A good number of Ospreys were passing north through the UK today.With 4 birds already back at Rutland Water, and 2 birds in our county today . One passed through Alvecote at 10-15 this morning and another over Draycote Water at 11-30.

Osprey through Alvecote Pools at 10-15 this morning (A Archer), on Bodymoor Heath water Kingsbury the first Common Tern back in Warwickshire this year (T Perrins) also 500+ Sand Martins. At nearby Shustoke good numbers of Martins passing through 170 Sand and 12 Swallow (B Kington). Just over the border at Marsh Lane the first Common Tern back there aswell (L Johnson), also 2 House Martins, 3 Swallow and a Willow Warbler. Still 2 LRP at Haunch Lane flood water this morning , (T Perrins, S Seal). Osprey over Draycote Water 11-30 (R Mays).Two Common Terns 15-00 at Bodymoor Heath water Kingsbury (J Allen). Marsh Harrier female over the war memorial A45/B4455 roundabout , (J Judge).

Nearby at Marsh Lane male Wheatear by the car park , on the pools 6 Oystercatchers, 4 Redshank , Little Ringed and Ringed Plovers and Raven over,(L Johnson). Green Sand at Haunch later, also Swallow near Dosthill, and LRP on wasteground near Wilnecote tip , (T Perrins).

Grandborough Fields Lesser-spotted Woodpecker flew over valley, Yellow Wagtail dung heap, and male Wheatear horse paddock.(R Mays) Draycote Water Chiffchaffs 7, Willow Warblers 2, Blackcap, Oystercatcher 2 circled joined by Redshank Wheatear male. (R Mays F Farrington). At Haunch Lane this evening, 1 LRP, 1 Green Sand and 2 Redshank, (T Perrins). A Common Redpoll on a private garden feeder again in Hartshill (J Harris). Nearby at Marsh Lane the first Yellow Wagtail of the year for the site, also present 5 LRP, 3 Ringed Plovers, 6 Redshank, 4 Oystercatchers a Common Sandpiper and Swallow and House Martin through, (N Barlow).

Avocet on Fishers Mill this morning and 2 Little Egrets their this afternoon (Birdguides). The 2 Scaup (male & fem) are still present on Lea Marston Lake viewed from the roadbridge.(Birdguides). One of the many Buzzards seen in the
Grandborough Valley this morning.

Marsh Harrier (female) north east over Cubbington this morning (J Judge). Egyption Goose in the field opposite the entrance to Middelton Hall this afternoon (M Doughty). In the Grandborough Valley this morning 2 Stonechat, 127 Golden Plover, and around 20 Buzzards. At Draycote 111 Wigeon, 18 Goldeneye, 20 Sand Martins, and a male Wheatear at the back of farnborough bank (R Mays, S Seal). 26 Goosanders roosted at Shustoke this evening (B Kington).
